Okay, so, I’ve been meaning to get into this whole motorcycle thing, and I gotta say, the rabbit hole goes deep. I started looking into BMC motorcycles, and then of course, Harley-Davidson came up because, well, they’re kind of a big deal. And then, somehow, I ended up looking at stuff about Oregon. It’s all a bit of a blur, to be honest.

First off, I started by just searching for “BMC motorcycles.” Seemed like a good place to start. Found out that BMC Motorcycle Company has been around since the 90s, 1994 or maybe 1999, making these custom American V-Twin bikes. And they are also into custom seat. Sounds pretty cool, right? I’m all about that custom life. Not just that, but I also read many reviews about them from different users. They do have some good ones.
Then, I stumbled upon this whole thing about BMC making parts and seats for Harley-Davidson. That’s when the Harley stuff started popping up everywhere. Apparently, they’re based in Bend, Oregon. It might be a good place to pay a visit. Seem like they have some kind of history of making good quality stuff, but I have no idea what a V-Twin actually is.
Dive into Harley-Davidson
Naturally, I had to dig into Harley-Davidson too. I mean, who hasn’t heard of them? Turns out, the first Harley dealer was some guy named Carl H. Lang in Chicago, back in the day. Sold three out of five bikes built in some shed. They’ve come a long way since then, building their first factory in 1906 in Milwaukee.
But here’s where it gets tricky. I started thinking about whether I should go for a BMC, a Harley, or something else entirely. Like, there are these Indian motorcycles that people seem to like. They’ve got the Indian Chief and the Indian Challenger, which have “buttery smooth transmissions” and “dialed-in handling.” Whatever that means. I don’t even know what that means, but it sounds impressive, I guess?
So, yeah, I’m kind of stuck. I wanted to get a bike, and now I’m drowning in information about different brands, custom parts, and the history of motorcycles. It’s a lot to take in.
I think I need to take a step back and figure out what I really want. Maybe visit a few dealerships, see some bikes in person, and definitely learn what a “V-Twin” is. I do not know where to start, but I think I will start from visiting some shops in Oregon.
Anyway, that’s my motorcycle journey so far. It’s been a wild ride, and I haven’t even bought a bike yet! I’ll probably be back with more updates as I figure this whole thing out. Wish me luck, folks! I definitely need it.
