Alright, so I’ve been using this motorcycle disc brake lock for a while, and let me tell you, figuring out where to stash the darn thing when I’m riding was a pain in the butt. I didn’t want it banging around in my pocket, and I sure as hell didn’t want to scratch up my bike. So, I got myself one of these storage bags specifically designed for disc locks, and it’s been pretty handy.

First off, I grabbed the bag and checked it out. It’s nothing fancy, just a simple pouch with a closure. Some have zippers, mine has a drawstring which is more convenient for me. It feels pretty durable, so I’m not worried about it ripping or anything.
How to Put It to Work:
- Getting the lock in: Obviously, when I’m not using the disc lock, I slip it into the bag. It’s a snug fit, which is good because I don’t want the lock sliding around.
- Securing the bag: This is where it gets interesting. Some folks like to attach it to their belt loop or a backpack. I prefer to keep it on the bike itself. My bag has a loop, so I usually fix it around my passenger grab handle or somewhere on the frame that’s out of the way. I make sure it’s secure, so it doesn’t bounce off while I’m riding. The drawstring closure is tight enough, but I always give it an extra knot, just to be safe.
Things to Remember:
- From my experience, I suggest to choose a bag made from tough material. You don’t want it falling apart after a few rides.
- Make sure it’s the right size for your lock. Too big, and the lock will rattle around. Too small, and you’ll be wrestling to get it in and out.
- If you put the storage bag on the bike, just ensure that it doesn’t interfere with any moving parts. You don’t want it getting caught in the chain or something.
My Two Cents
Honestly, I don’t get the hype about those super expensive disc locks. I mean, if someone really wants to steal your bike, they’ll find a way. I have also heard that many of these locks can be broken by removing the disc from the wheel. But yeah, it’s better than nothing, I guess. And hey, having a dedicated bag for it is definitely a plus. Keeps things organized and prevents scratches. That’s my take on it, anyway.
