Alright, so I’ve been meaning to beef up my collection of sports car books, and I finally took the plunge. I gotta say, it was a bit of a wild ride, but in the best way possible.

First off, I hit up the usual online bookstores. You know, the big names. I was just browsing, not really sure what I was looking for, just soaking up the vibe. I typed in “sports car books” and, man, the results were overwhelming! So many titles, so many authors, I didn’t know where to start. I started adding things to my cart, just kinda randomly. A book about Ford v Ferrari, because, hey, who didn’t love that movie? I think the book is called “Go Like Hell” by some guy named A.J. Baime. That was my first purchase.
Then I thought, “Why not get something a bit more personal?” So I went for a book by Dale Earnhardt Jr., “Racing to the Finish”. I don’t know, I just love to read the experience from these racing stars. That went into my cart. It was a bit impulsive, but I figured, why not?
After that, I remembered someone mentioning a book about NASCAR’s 75th anniversary. I mean, 75 years! That’s some serious history. I did a quick search and found it: “NASCAR 75 Years” by Al Pearce and Mike Hembree. I’m not a huge NASCAR fan, but I do appreciate the history and the spectacle of it all. So I added that to my cart, too.
My Growing Collection
- Go Like Hell by A.J. Baime
- Racing to the Finish by Dale Earnhardt Jr.
- NASCAR 75 Years by Al Pearce, Mike Hembree
But I didn’t stop there. I went down a rabbit hole, checking out forums, and reading reviews. I found a few more gems that way, books I never would have considered otherwise. Let’s just say my “to-read” pile is getting pretty hefty.
It was a bit of a splurge, to be honest. I definitely spent more than I planned. But hey, you only live once, right? And I’m genuinely excited to dive into these books. I think it’s gonna be a fun, informative, and maybe even inspiring journey. I’ll keep y’all updated on my reading progress. Maybe I’ll even start a little book club or something. Who knows!
