Well now, let’s talk about them suvs with sliding doors, you know, the kind that open up real wide-like. I seen some fancy ones and some not-so-fancy ones, but let me tell ya, they all got their good points and bad points.

First off, why would ya want a sliding door on a suv anyhow? Seems a bit odd, don’t it? But I reckon it’s handy for gettin’ folks and stuff in and out. Specially if you got a bunch of young’uns or if you’re always haulin’ groceries or whatnots. No more swingin’ doors open and bangin’ into the car next to ya at the Wal-Mart, ya hear?
- Easy in and out: Like I said, easy peasy for gettin’ in and out, specially for the little ones and the old folks. No need to squeeze through a narrow door opening.
- Good for tight spaces: If you park in a tight garage or on a crowded street, them sliding doors are a real lifesaver. You don’t need all that extra room to swing the door open.
- Loading stuff: Easy to load up the back with groceries or whatever else you got. Just slide that door open and toss it in. No fuss, no muss.
Now, I ain’t no expert on all them fancy car names, but I seen a few of these suvs rollin’ around. There’s that Kia somethin’ or other, the Carnival, I think they call it. It ain’t exactly a suv, more like one of them minivan thingamajigs, but it’s got them sliding doors. Folks seem to like ’em, though I heard they can be a bit pricey.
And then there’s them other ones, the Pilot and the Highlander and such. They ain’t got no sliding doors, far as I know, but they got plenty of room inside. Three rows of seats, they say. Good for big families, I guess. But if you really want them sliding doors, you gotta go with the minivan, seems like. Unless you find one of them fancy foreign jobs, like that Toyota Porte or somethin’. I seen pictures of them, little boxy things with sliding doors. Don’t know if they sell ’em around here, though.
But let’s be honest, most suvs, they just got regular doors. You know, the kind that swing open. And that’s fine and dandy for most folks. But if you got a big family or if you’re always haulin’ stuff around, them sliding doors might be worth considerin’.
Speaking of hauling stuff, I remember one time my grandson, he tried to load up a whole dang couch in the back of his suv. It was a mess, let me tell ya. He had to fold down the seats and wrestle that couch every which way, and he still scratched up the inside somethin’ awful. If he had them sliding doors, it woulda been a whole lot easier, I reckon. Just slide that door open wide and shove that couch right in.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ sliding doors are perfect. They can be tricky sometimes, specially if they get iced up in the winter. And they can be more expensive to fix if somethin’ goes wrong. But they sure are convenient when you need ’em. It all depends on what you need and what you’re willin’ to pay for, I guess.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a suv with sliding doors, well, good luck to ya. You might have to do some searchin’, but they’re out there. Just make sure you do your homework and find one that fits your needs and your budget. And don’t let them car salesmen try to sweet-talk ya into somethin’ you don’t need. They’ll try to sell ya the moon if you let ’em.
And one more thing, don’t forget to check the safety ratings. You want a car that’s gonna keep you and your family safe, no matter what. Sliding doors or not, safety comes first. That’s what I always say.
