Okay, so I’ve been thinking a lot about getting a new SUV lately. My old one is, well, old, and I need something with more space and that’s just, you know, newer. I started looking around, and the Honda Pilot kept popping up. It seems pretty popular, but I wasn’t sure if it was actually right for me. So I started checking out other stuff that’s similar to see what was up.

First, I made a list of SUVs that are kinda like the Pilot, you know, same size, similar features, that sort of thing. Stuff like the Mazda CX-90, Kia Telluride, and Hyundai Palisade were at the top of my list. They are all in that midsize SUV gang, which is exactly what I wanted.
Then I started digging into each one. I read a ton of reviews, watched some videos, you know, the usual stuff when you’re about to drop some serious cash on something. I found that the Mazda CX-90 is supposed to be super refined, like, really sleek and fancy. I even read that the Kia Telluride and the Hyundai Palisade are the same car with different looks.
I also paid attention to the tech stuff inside. Like, the Pilot’s screen is only 9 inches, which seems small compared to some others, and it isn’t even Honda’s newest system. Others have these big, wide screens that look way more modern.
After all that, I went to a few dealerships. I sat in each car, poked around, and even took a couple of them for a test drive. I wanted to see how they felt in real life, not just on paper.
The seats were tested, the trunk space was measured in my head, you know how it is.
The test drives were cool. I got a feel for how they drive, how loud they are inside, and if they were comfy.
- The Mazda felt really nice, like, premium nice.
- The Kia and Hyundai were roomy as heck, which is great.
- The Pilot was good, but I don’t know, it just didn’t wow me like I thought it would.
So, after all that, I’m still not 100% sure which one I’ll get. But I feel way better now that I’ve actually checked them out in person. It’s one thing to read about them online, but it’s totally different to sit in them and drive them around. It’s a big choice, but at least I’m not going in blind.
It’s a tough choice because they all have their good stuff, but I really have to think about what I need the most.
At the end, I picked the Hyundai. Because it is similar to Pilot but cheaper.
