Okay, so I’ve been wanting to swap out the stock mirrors on my car for some sportier ones for a while now. You know, something that looks a bit more aggressive and aerodynamic. Finally got around to it this past weekend, and let me tell you, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Let me give you a detailed account of my experience.

First things first, I hopped online and started looking at different sport mirrors. There are tons of options out there, but I settled on a pair of CIPA lighted Euro Sport Mirror. They have a nice, sleek design, and the fact that they can be wired as running lights is a bonus. So, I ordered them up and waited impatiently for them to arrive.
Once the mirrors got here, I cleared out some space in my garage and got to work. It is said that the old mirrors were pretty easy to take off. Just a few screws and they popped right off. I watched some YouTube videos and found that I needed to get a 10mm socket to loosen the 3 nuts on the mirror.
Now, the new mirrors came with some wires and connectors, but honestly, I didn’t bother with the wiring just yet. I wanted to make sure the mirrors fit properly first. Mounting them was a breeze. The kit included 2 mirrors (driver and passenger side), 4 self-tapping screws, 2 bolts, so it was a simple process.
With the new mirrors on, I stepped back to admire my handiwork. I think that they really improved the overall look of my car! They definitely give it a more custom feel.
I haven’t wired up the lights yet, but that’s next on my to-do list. The instruction that came with the mirrors makes it seem pretty straightforward, so I’m not too worried about it. I have looked up some resources on the internet, and they all point to the fact that using convex mirrors, there will be a better vision. Less blind spot, you know.
All in all, I’m really happy with how this little project turned out. It was a relatively easy and inexpensive way to give my car a bit of a facelift. If you’re thinking about doing something similar, I say go for it! Just do your research, find some mirrors you like, and don’t be afraid to get your hands a little dirty. You might surprise yourself with what you can accomplish.
