Okay, so I’ve been obsessed with classic cars lately, and the “romeo sports car” idea got stuck in my head. I had to build something, even if it was just a model. I started by just looking at a bunch of pictures online. I mean, hours just scrolling, looking at different models, different angles… trying to get a feel for the classic shapes.

Digging into the Design
After the picture-fest, I started sketching. Nothing fancy, just rough drawings on paper, trying to capture the lines I liked. It was messy, lots of erasing and starting over. I wanted that low, swooping profile, you know? The kind that just screams “speed” even when it’s standing still.
- Rounded fenders – a must-have.
- Long hood – classic sports car look.
- Small, rounded windshield.
- Big, prominent grille.
Building the Thing
Then came the fun part – actually building it. I grabbed some cardboard, because, hey, it’s easy to work with. I started cutting and shaping, trying to match my sketches. It was… a lot harder than it looked. Getting those curves right with cardboard? Tricky.
I used a ton of tape. Like, a ridiculous amount. And glue. Lots and lots of glue. My fingers were sticky for days. Slowly but surely, it started to take shape. I added some bottle caps for wheels, just to see how it would look. It wasn’t perfect, but it was starting to resemble a car!
Details, Details
After I painted it. I added some details – I drew on some headlights and a grille with a marker.
It was not perfect, far from it. The cardboard was a bit wonky in places, the paint job was… enthusiastic, let’s say. But, I built it. I took an idea from my head, and I made it into something real.
I still get a grin looking at it. I still look at it and be satisfied and happy.
