Okay, so I saw this “pickup truck meme” thing trending and I was like, “What the heck is that?” I had some free time, so I decided to dive in and figure it out.

First Steps: Finding Some Memes
I started by hitting up Google Images. I just typed in “pickup truck meme” and boom, tons of pictures popped up. I saw a lot of those comparison memes, you know, the ones with like, “My Truck vs. Your Truck” or “How I see my truck vs. How my wife sees my truck”. I gotta admit, some of them were pretty funny.
Understanding the Humor
I spent a good while just scrolling through these memes, trying to figure out what made them tick. It seemed like most of them were playing on stereotypes about pickup truck owners. Stuff like:
- Guys being overly obsessed with their trucks.
- Trucks being super huge and impractical.
- Modifying trucks to the extreme.
- Using trucks for, shall we say, less than ideal purposes.
Trying to Make My Own
Feeling inspired (or maybe just bored), I thought, “Why not try making one myself?” I grabbed a picture of my buddy’s beat-up old truck – it’s a classic, let me tell you. Then I found a picture of one of those ridiculously huge, tricked-out trucks online.
I opened up a simple image editor – nothing fancy, just something that lets me add text. I put the two pictures side-by-side. Above my buddy’s truck, I wrote “What I told my wife I needed”. Above the monster truck, I wrote “What I actually bought”.
The Result
It wasn’t exactly a masterpiece, and i didn’t share it online. I thought it was kind of amusing. I showed it to my buddy (the owner of the old truck), and he got a good laugh out of it. He then showed his wife, she didn’t find any funny part.
So, that’s my adventure into the world of pickup truck memes. Not exactly groundbreaking stuff, but it was a fun little way to waste some time and learn something new(kind of?)
