Okay, so the other day, I was hauling some stuff in my truck, and it hit me – I really needed a better way to keep everything secure. I’ve had things fly out before (oops!), and it’s just not worth the risk. So, I decided to get a cargo net for my pickup truck bed.

First, I measured my truck bed. I wanted to make sure I got the right size net. It’s simple, just grabbed a tape measure and jotted down the length and width.
Next, I looked around at different cargo nets. There are tons of options, from simple bungee nets to heavy-duty ratchet strap ones. I’m not hauling anything super heavy usually, I just wanted something to prevent the tools and equipment from moving around too much, So, I chose to choose the ones with medium load.
- Checked the material. I wanted something durable and weather-resistant.
- Looked at the attachment points. I wanted sturdy hooks or carabiners.
- Read some reviews. Always good to see what other people’s experiences are.
After I picked out the net, it was time to put it on. This was pretty straightforward. I just hooked the corners to the anchor points in my truck bed. Most trucks have these built-in, so it was easy peasy.
I made sure the net was snug but not overly tight. I didn’t want to put too much stress on the anchor points. I gave it a good tug to make sure everything was secure.
Testing Time!
I loaded up some of my usual gear – toolboxes, some buckets, and a few other odds and ends. I took a drive around the block, making a few sharp turns and stops to see how the net held up.
And…success! Everything stayed put. No sliding, no shifting, no worries about stuff flying out. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s such a simple thing, but it makes a big difference in keeping my cargo secure and my mind at ease.
I recommend everyone who is a pickup truck owner. You should try it.
