Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get a back rack for my pickup for a while now. You know, something to help me haul stuff around without messing up the cab. I finally bit the bullet and started looking into it.

First, I had to figure out what kind of rack I even wanted. There are tons of options out there, some made of aluminum, some made of steel. I ended up going with steel, just felt more sturdy to me.
- Did some digging online, you know, the usual, reading reviews, watching videos.
- Talked to a few buddies who have trucks, see what they use.
- Looked at a couple of local shops, just to get a feel for what’s out there.
Installation Time!
Once I found one I liked, it was time to put it on. Now, I’m not the handiest guy, but I figured I could handle it. Some of these racks you gotta drill into your truck bed, but I found one that just clamps on. Way easier, and I didn’t want to put holes in my truck anyway.
Got the rack, got it home, and started putting it together. The instructions were, well, they were there. Not the best, but I managed. Took me a couple of hours, a few wrong turns, but I got it done.
It’s a pretty simple setup, really. Sits on the bed rails right behind the cab. Clamped it down tight, made sure everything was lined up, and boom, done. Looks pretty good, if I do say so myself. It’s low profile, so it doesn’t stick up too much, but it’s still tall enough to be useful.
Now I can throw ladders, pipes, whatever back there without worrying about them sliding around and smacking into the back window. Plus, it just makes the truck look a little tougher, you know? All in all, I’m pretty happy with it. Definitely a good buy.
