Okay, so I’ve been wanting to do more truck camping, but sleeping in the truck bed? Not comfortable. At all. I started looking into options, and that’s when I discovered these inflatable beds made specifically for pickup trucks. Game changer!

First, I measured my truck bed. This is super important, guys. You don’t want to end up with a mattress that’s too big or too small. I jotted down the length, width, and even the depth, making sure to account for the wheel wells.
Then, I started my online hunt. There are a TON of these things out there. Different brands, different prices, different features. It was a little overwhelming, to be honest. I spent a good few hours just reading reviews and comparing specs.I narrowed it down based on what other folks were saying, the material it was made of, and of course, the price.
Finally,I ordered one. It took many days to show up. It was a pretty big box! Inside, there was the mattress itself, an electric pump, and some patches (just in case).
Inflating this thing!
Next step, actually using the thing!
- First, I laid the deflated mattress out in my truck bed.
- Then, I made sure it was positioned right, with the air valve easily accessible.
- After that, I plugged the pump into my truck’s power outlet.
- And then I flipped the switch.
It took a few minutes to fully inflate, and honestly, it was louder than I expected. But, it filled out the entire truck bed perfectly, even fitting around those wheel wells like a glove. It was surprisingly firm!
I threw my sleeping bag and pillows on top, and hopped in. Seriously, it was SO much better than just sleeping on the hard truck bed. I slept like a baby! I could actually stretch * I was able to enjoy a comfortable night out.
The next morning, deflating it was easy too. I just opened the valve, and the pump even had a deflate setting, which sucked the air out pretty quickly. I rolled it up, stuffed it back in its bag, and that was it.
Overall, I’m super happy with this purchase. It’s made truck camping way more enjoyable, and I’m already planning my next trip!
