Alright, folks, gather ’round, let me tell you about my latest project. I’ve been riding motorcycles for years, and I’ve always felt the need to carry a piece for self-defense. But finding a good way to carry while riding? That’s been a real pain in the butt. So, I decided to make my own motorcycle holster.

First, I spent a good amount of time thinking about where I could even put a holster on a bike. It had to be somewhere I could reach it quick, but also somewhere it wouldn’t get in the way of me riding. I mean, safety first, right? After messing around with a few ideas, I decided the best spot was on the gas tank, right in front of me.
Next up, I had to figure out what kind of holster I even wanted. I knew it needed to be secure, so my piece wouldn’t go flying if I hit a bump. But, it also needed to be easy to draw from, in case I ever needed it in a hurry. I looked at a bunch of different holsters online, but nothing really fit the bill. So, I decided to just make my own from scratch.
I grabbed some heavy-duty leather from a local shop and started cutting and stitching. It took a few tries, but eventually, I had a holster that fit my gun perfectly. I added some straps and buckles to make sure it was extra secure, and I even added a little padding to protect my bike’s paint job.
The last step was figuring out how to attach the holster to the bike. This was pretty easy, I just used some strong magnets. I put a couple on the back of the holster and a couple on the underside of the gas tank. They’re strong enough to hold the holster in place, even at high speeds, but I can still rip it off easily if I need to.
Here’s a breakdown of what I did:
- Brainstormed the best location for quick access and safety.
- Decided on a gas tank placement.
- Searched for existing holster options, found nothing suitable.
- Sourced heavy-duty leather for durability.
- Cut and stitched the leather to fit my firearm.
- Added straps and buckles for secure attachment.
- Incorporated padding to protect the motorcycle’s paint.
- Utilized strong magnets for easy attachment and removal.

I’ve been using this holster for a few weeks now, and I gotta say, I’m pretty happy with it. It’s comfortable, secure, and easy to access. I feel a lot safer knowing I have my piece within reach while I’m riding. Plus, it looks pretty damn cool, if I do say so myself. Of course, this is just my experience, and what works for me might not work for everyone. But if you’re a rider who carries, I hope this gives you some ideas. Stay safe out there, folks!
