Okay, so I’ve been needing a better way to move my bike around in the garage. It’s a tight fit, and wrestling a big cruiser around is a real pain in the butt. I’d heard about these things called motorcycle dollies, so I figured I’d give one a try. After looking around online and seeing some options, I decided to go for it.

First, I checked out some different models online. There were a bunch, from simple ones to fancier versions with all sorts of bells and whistles. Prices were all over the place, too. I saw one for like $134.99 with free shipping which seemed like a decent deal. I mean, moving a heavy motorcycle is tough, so anything to make that process easier is worth considering, right?
I ended up grabbing one that looked pretty sturdy. It’s basically a low platform with wheels, and it has a kickstand plate built-in, which seemed handy. The thing is built like a tank, which is good because my bike is no lightweight.
Getting the bike onto the dolly was a bit of a challenge at first. It took some wiggling and a little bit of muscle. I rolled the front wheel onto the dolly and then carefully lowered the kickstand onto the plate. After that, I pushed the back of the bike until the rear wheel was on the dolly, too. It wasn’t super easy, but definitely doable.
How It Changed Things
- Moving the bike around is now a breeze. I can just push it wherever I need it in the garage. No more awkward lifting and turning!
- Parking is so much easier. I can tuck the bike into a corner and it doesn’t take up nearly as much space. This frees up room to move around, which is great.
- I found out that it does not care what brand or type of bike you have. Mine is a touring bike but I bet a sportbike will be the same on the dolly.
Honestly, I wish I’d gotten one of these things sooner. It’s made my life so much easier. If you’re struggling to move your bike around in a tight space, I highly recommend checking out a motorcycle dolly. It’s a real game-changer. It is like every motorcycle enthusiast I know also has one of these things, I guess I was the only one who did not know.
Anyway, that’s my experience with a motorcycle dolly. Hope it’s helpful to someone out there!
