Man, let me tell you about this little project I took on – adding an amp to my motorcycle. I wanted to crank up the tunes while cruising down the highway, you know? So, I started looking into it, and boy, was it a ride.

First off, I started digging around to figure out what kind of amp I needed. Turns out, these Class D amps are the way to go for bikes. They’re small but pack a punch, which is perfect. I started comparing options. I came across some popular names.
- Kenwood 2156568 KAC-M1804 – A four-channel amp, it says it can put out 400 watts.
- Rockford Fosgate PBR300X2 – This one also caught my eye, especially when I read about its features.
- Kenwood 1177524 – Another one from Kenwood, a 400W, 4-channel Class D amp.
- BOSS Audio Amplifier MCBK470B– A budget-friendly option that didn’t look too shabby.
- Rockford Fosgate Amplifier PBR300X4 – Again, a Rockford Fosgate, and people seemed to really like it in the reviews.
I spent hours checking these out, comparing prices, reading reviews. I wanted the best bang for my buck. And not only the amp, but I also had to think about the speakers. I mean, what’s the point of an amp if the speakers can’t handle it, right? I wanted something with good sound quality – clear highs, decent mids, and a bit of bass, of course. Plus, Bluetooth would be sweet, so I could stream directly from my phone.
I ended up going with the Kenwood 1177524. Seemed like a solid choice, and the reviews were pretty good. Ordered it online, and while waiting for it to arrive, I started prepping the bike. I located a suitable spot under the seat to place it and started running some wires. I wanted everything neat and tidy, so I took my time with it.
The amp finally arrived, and I got to work. Connected all the wires, double-checked everything, and then came the moment of truth. I turned on the bike, fired up some music, and bam! It worked. The sound was crisp and loud, just what I wanted. I took it out for a test ride, and man, it was awesome. Felt like a whole new experience, cruising with my favorite tunes blasting.
It wasn’t super easy, but it wasn’t rocket science either. Just took some research, a bit of elbow grease, and patience. And let me tell you, it was totally worth it. Now, every ride is a concert on wheels!
