Okay, so yesterday I got really into this crossword puzzle, right? It was from the New York Times, and I usually do these things to kill time, but this one got me hooked. There was this one clue that had me stumped for a good while: “Mazda sports car.” I mean, I’m not a car guy, not really. I know some stuff, but sports cars? Not my area of expertise.

So, I started digging. First, I just brainstormed, trying to recall any Mazda sports car names I might’ve heard before. Nothing. Then, I started looking around online, just typing “Mazda sports car” into a search bar, hoping something would jump out at me. I skimmed through a bunch of car websites and forums. Lots of talk about different Mazda models, but nothing that immediately solved the puzzle.
My Search Process
- Brainstorming: Tried to think of any Mazda sports cars I knew.
- Online Searching: Typed “Mazda sports car” into a search engine.
- Reading Forums: Looked at car forums for mentions of Mazda sports cars.
- Crossword Websites: Checked out sites dedicated to crossword puzzle help.
After a while, I started looking specifically at websites that help with crossword puzzles. I figured, someone out there must’ve had the same problem, right? I found a few sites that listed possible answers for different clues, and that’s where things started to click. There were a few mentions of a five-letter word that seemed to fit: “MIATA.”
I went back to the puzzle and plugged it in, and guess what? It fit perfectly! I felt like a genius, honestly. Who knew that “MIATA” was a Mazda sports car? Not me, until now! It was a real “aha!” moment. I finished the rest of the puzzle, feeling pretty good about myself. All thanks to that one tricky clue about a Mazda sports car. It just felt great to finally crack it!
Later, I read that this clue has been used in the NYT crossword a few times before, as recently as May 8th and 9th of 2024. I guess I’m not the only one who found it to be a bit of a brain teaser! Anyways, I’ve definitely learned something new today, and I might even impress someone with my newfound knowledge of Mazda sports cars. I think I found my new hobby now, that’s it!
