Okay, so I’ve been on the hunt for a used sports car here in Austin. Nothing too fancy, just something fun to drive on the weekends, you know? Here’s how I’ve gone about it, hopefully, this helps someone out there!

Starting My Engines (aka The Search)
First things first, I started with some good old-fashioned online browsing. I spent hours scrolling. Didn’t want anything too old, or with a million miles. My budget? Let’s just say I wasn’t looking for a Ferrari.
I mainly stuck to browsing.
Narrowing Down the Field
After a few days of browsing, I started to get a feel for what I liked and what was available locally. I narrowed my search down to a few specific models. I figured it’s better to be focused than all over the place.
Time to Kick the Tires (Literally)
Next up, the fun part – actually going to see some cars! I contacted a few sellers. Gotta be careful. There are some strange people!
I arranged a couple of viewings. One was a total bust – the car looked way better in the pictures. The other one? Promising! It drove well, and the seller seemed honest. We talked about the car’s history, any issues it had, and of course, the price.
Making a Decision (and a Deal!)
After sleeping on it (always a good idea!), I decided to go for the second car. It wasn’t perfect, but it felt right. And it was within my budget! We negotiated the price a little, and finally settled on a number we were both happy with.
The final steps involve paperwork. I made sure everything was above board. And finally, the keys were mine!
Cruising in Austin!
Now, I’m the proud owner of a used sports car. It’s not brand new, but it’s new to me, and it’s a blast to drive. I’m already planning some weekend road trips around Austin!
