Hey everyone, so I’ve been digging around in the attic lately, you know, one of those “I really should sort this out” kind of moments. And guess what I stumbled upon? A box full of old toys from when I was a kid. Most of it was the usual stuff, but then I found this little gem – a KidCo Inc. toy motorcycle from 1981.

First off, I gotta say, finding this thing brought back a flood of memories. I remember playing with this for hours on end. It’s a pretty simple toy, made of plastic, with a pull string mechanism. You pull the string, and off it goes! This one’s a model of a Harley-Davidson, which I thought was the coolest thing ever back in the day.
I spent a good chunk of the afternoon just messing around with it, seeing if it still worked. And, believe it or not, it does! The pull string mechanism is a bit stiff, and the sound it makes isn’t as loud as I remember, but hey, it’s over 40 years old. I was actually surprised it held up this well.
I did a little bit of research online, just out of curiosity. Apparently, these KidCo toys are quite rare now. I saw a few listings online, but not many. They were made in Macao, which I thought was pretty interesting. I guess back then, a lot of toys were made there.
Looking closer at the toy, I noticed some wear and tear, which is expected. There’s some paint loss here and there, and the chrome parts aren’t as shiny as they used to be. But honestly, it adds to the charm. It’s like this little motorcycle has its own story to tell, a testament to all the fun times we had together.
- Pulled the string a few times – still works, but not as smoothly.
- Checked for any major damage – just some minor paint loss and chrome wear.
- Looked up some info online – these are pretty rare now.
Rediscovering this KidCo motorcycle was a real blast from the past. It’s amazing how a simple toy can hold so many memories. I’m definitely going to keep this little guy. It’s not just a toy, it’s a piece of my childhood.
Anyway, I thought I’d share this little find with you all. It’s always fun to take a trip down memory lane, right? Plus, it’s a good reminder that sometimes, the simplest things can bring the most joy.
Has anyone else found any cool old toys lately? I’d love to hear about them!
