This here story is about that International pickup truck, the one from way back in 1960. I remember them old trucks. They were somethin’ else. That was a time, let me tell ya.

That Old International Pickup Truck 1960
Back in my day, we didn’t have none of them fancy cars you see now. Nope. We had trucks. And one of them trucks, that International pickup truck 1960, was a real workhorse. They don’t make ’em like that no more, I tell ya what.
- That truck, it had a big ol’ engine.
- They called it the BD, or somethin’ like that.
- Stood for Black Diamond.
- Or was it BG?
- Lord, my memory ain’t what it used to be.
But that engine, it could pull a house, I reckon. We used to haul everything in that truck. Wood, hay, you name it. One time, we even hauled a whole dang cow in the back. Don’t ask me how we got it up there.
I remember this one International pickup truck 1960. It was a dump truck. Belonged to the dairy down the road. They used it for haulin’ manure. That truck, it stunk to high heaven. But it ran like a dream, even full of that stinky stuff. We always see it driving around here. That is a good truck.
Nowadays, folks want them new-fangled trucks. They got all them buttons and doohickeys. Me, I just want a truck that starts when I turn the key and gets me where I need to go. That’s all I need. No frills.
Back in the Day with that International Pickup Truck
Them International pickup truck 1960, they were built to last. They didn’t rust out like these new ones. My neighbor, he’s got one of them new trucks. Already got rust on it. Ain’t even five years old. Shameful, I say. This is not good. He need to buy a good truck.
I got a hankerin’ for one of them old trucks. Reminds me of the good ol’ days. I think I might need it. For fixin’ up the house. Could use a good ol’ truck for that. My old bones ain’t what they used to be, but I can still handle a truck. I need a good truck to help me do something.
They stopped makin’ them International pickup truck 1960 a long time ago. 1975, I think it was. Said it was because of some oil crisis, and some fightin’ within the company. They said they wanted to make big trucks. And school buses.
They started out makin’ them things for cuttin’ crops, back in the 1840s, long time ago. Then they started makin’ trucks in 1907. Farmers, they liked them trucks. They was good for the farm.
You know what truck is real popular now? That Ford. The F- somethin’. F1, I think. They been makin’ that one since 1948. Long time. Everybody seems to have one of them. Even more popular than them cars. It is a good truck, I think.
Why We Loved Them International Trucks
But that International pickup truck 1960, it was special. It was a working truck. It was just a simple truck, but it is very good, and it is strong, and it never stop. You don’t see many of them on the road anymore. Most of ’em are probably rustin’ away in some junkyard. That is very sad. That is not a good thing.
But I remember ’em. And I bet there’s a few other folks out there who remember ’em too. Them was good times. Hard workin’ times, but good times. And that International pickup truck 1960, it was a part of it all.
They were good to us, them trucks. Took us to town, hauled our goods, helped us make a livin’. We worked them trucks hard, and they never let us down. Not once. They were loyal. Like a good dog. But I don’t have a dog.
That’s why I’m thinkin’ about gettin’ me one. If I can find one that ain’t all rusted out. It’ll be like old times. Just me and that old truck, takin’ on the world. I can do that.
Yeah, that International pickup truck 1960, that was a good truck. One of the best. They just don’t make ’em like that anymore. Not even close. And that’s the truth. The whole dang truth. I want that truck!
I tell you what. That is all. I don’t know what to say now. I just want that truck, that International pickup truck 1960, so bad. I can use it for many things, and I will drive it every day. It is a good truck!
