Okay, so I’ve been wanting to upgrade the seats in my pickup for a while now. Those stock seats just weren’t cutting it, especially on long drives. My back was killing me! I finally decided to pull the trigger and get some air ride seats. Let me tell you, it was a bit of a process, but totally worth it in the end.

First, I took out the old seats. I moved the stock seat all the way back and found those two bolts at the front. A few twists with the wrench and they came right off. Then, I slid the seat forward and did the same with the two bolts at the back. The seats were now free.
Next, I needed to put in the new ones and bolt them down just like I did with the old seats. It was pretty straightforward, though I did have to wrangle them into place a bit. The instructions were a little vague, but I managed to figure it out.
Here’s a breakdown of what I did:
- Unscrewed the front bolts of the stock seats.
- Slid the seats back.
- Unscrewed the rear bolts.
- Removed the old seats from the truck.
- Placed the new air ride seats into position.
- Bolted the new seats in, reversing the removal process.
Once everything was bolted down and secure, I took the truck for a test drive. Man, what a difference! It felt like I was floating on air, even on some bumpy roads. No more aching back, no more stiffness. I could finally enjoy those long drives.
It was a bit of a weekend project, but totally worth the effort. If you’re thinking about upgrading your pickup seats, I definitely recommend looking into air ride seats. They make a huge difference in comfort.
If you’ve got any questions about the process, feel free to ask! I am not an expert, but I am happy to share my experience. I might not know everything, but I sure know what worked for me. Good luck!
