So, I got a wild hair to check out the Ford EcoSport’s interior. I’ve been seeing these little SUVs everywhere, and I got curious. What’s the deal with the inside? Is it cramped? Is it comfy? I had to find out.

First things first, I headed to a local Ford dealership. I spotted an EcoSport right away and made a beeline for it. The outside looked pretty neat, all compact and sporty. Then, I opened the driver’s side door and hopped in.
My initial impression? Not bad, not bad at all. The seats felt pretty supportive, and there was a decent amount of legroom, even for me (and I’m not exactly a small guy). The dashboard was laid out in a way that made sense – no crazy button overload or anything. Everything seemed to be right where you’d expect it.
I started playing around with the infotainment system. It had a touchscreen, which is always a plus in my book. Hooked up my phone, no problem. The sound system wasn’t half bad either. I could see myself cruising around, blasting some tunes in this thing.
Next, I decided to check out the back seat. I folded down the driver’s seat, hopped in back, and… well, it was a bit tighter back there. Definitely more suitable for kids or shorter adults. But hey, it’s a small SUV, so I wasn’t expecting a ton of space. The back seats did fold down flat, though, which is a big plus for cargo space. You could easily fit a bunch of groceries or even some camping gear back there.
Here’s a quick rundown of what I liked:
- Front seats: Pretty comfy, good support, decent legroom.
- Dashboard: Simple and intuitive layout, no unnecessary clutter.
- Infotainment: Touchscreen, easy phone connection, decent sound system.
- Cargo space: Back seats fold flat, making for a good amount of room.
And here’s what wasn’t so great:
- Back seats: A bit cramped for taller adults.
- Some hard plastics here and there, it didn’t feel cheap, just not particularly premium.
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the EcoSport’s interior. It’s a practical, no-nonsense space that gets the job done. It’s not the most luxurious interior I’ve ever seen, but it’s definitely functional and comfortable enough for everyday driving. If you’re looking for a small SUV with a decent interior, the EcoSport is worth checking out.
I actually filmed the whole thing while inspecting the car at the dealership, and I’ll be putting that video on my YouTube channel.
It’s been a blast sharing this little adventure with you all. Stay tuned for more!
