I checked some local dealers’ websites too, but most of them didn’t even list the prices online.
My journey to find the right price
- First, I visited a few dealerships in person. Let me tell you, walking into those showrooms is an experience. Shiny cars everywhere, salespeople in sharp suits. It’s a bit intimidating, to be honest.
- The first place I went to had a used GLE 450. They were asking for around 80 million Naira, which was still way out of my budget. I tried to negotiate, but they wouldn’t budge much.
- Then, I found this other place that had a brand new one. It was emerald green metallic, beautiful car! I talked to the salesperson there, a really nice guy, and he gave me a quote of $91,270.
Honestly, after seeing the prices and doing some more research online. I compared to buy used car from US with brand new car from local store. It seems the price for used car is cheaper than brand new one. But the shipping fee also need to be considered. What a headache!
After weeks of searching, calling, and visiting different places, I finally found a GLE 450 SUV that fit my budget. It wasn’t easy, and it definitely took a lot of patience, but I did it. Finally, I decided to buy the used car from US and ship to Nigeria! Yeah, I have to pay the shipping fee and wait for a while to get the car. But I’m so happy that I made it.
