Alright, let’s talk about them cropped motorcycle jackets, you know, the short ones. I saw some gals wearin’ ’em at the market last week, and they looked kinda neat, I guess. So, I figured, why not yap about it a bit?
First off, what in the tarnation is a cropped motorcycle jacket anyway? Well, it’s like them regular motorcycle jackets, you know, the ones them bikers wear, but shorter. They stop right at your waist, or maybe a little above. Makes your legs look longer, they say. I ain’t got no long legs to show off, but if you do, good for you, I reckon.
Now, where can you get these things? Seems like everywhere’s sellin’ ’em these days. You got your fancy stores, them Nordstrom places, and then you got your regular shops, even online. They say you can find all sorts, from leather ones to them puffy ones. Leather’s tough, I know that much. Had a leather purse once, lasted me twenty years, it did. Them puffy ones, I ain’t so sure about. Seems like they’d tear easy on a barbed wire fence, but maybe they’re good for city folk.
- Leather ones are tough
- Puffy ones might tear easy
- You can find them everywhere
Why would you want one of these cropped jackets? Well, like I said, makes your legs look longer. And they ain’t as bulky as them big ol’ motorcycle jackets. You can move around easier in ’em, I guess. Good for workin’ in the garden, maybe? Or for when you’re chasin’ after them grandkids. They say it makes you look stylish too, whatever that means. I ain’t never cared much about style, long as my clothes keep me warm and covered, that’s good enough for me.
Some folks say these jackets are good for transitional wardrobes. That’s just a fancy way of sayin’ they’re good for spring and fall, when it ain’t too hot and ain’t too cold. Makes sense, I guess. A big ol’ coat is too much in the spring, and a thin shirt ain’t enough in the fall. A short jacket, well, it might be just right. Goldilocks and the three bears, you know?
And what do you wear with ’em? Jeans, I reckon. Everybody wears jeans these days. Them high-waisted jeans, they say, look good with a cropped jacket. Makes your waist look smaller, they say. Hmph, I ain’t worried about my waist. Been workin’ on this farm my whole life, my waist is what it is. But you young gals, you might care about that sort of thing. They also say you can wear ’em with boots. Boots are good, keeps your feet dry and warm. Can’t go wrong with a good pair of boots.
You can even find oversized motorcycle jackets and leather moto vests, if you want something a bit different. But we’re talkin’ about the cropped ones today. They also got some made with Japanese fabric, whatever that is. Sounds fancy. Probably costs a pretty penny too. I’ll stick with my old flannel shirt, thank you very much.
Them fashion folks, they say a cropped jacket adds edginess to your look. Edgy? Like a knife? I don’t know about that. But I guess it means you look a little tough, a little cool. Like you ain’t afraid of nothin’. Maybe that’s why them biker gals like ’em. Or maybe they just like ’em ’cause they’re comfortable. Who knows?
And get this, they say a cropped street style puffer jacket is a great choice for style and functionality. Sounds like somethin’ them city slickers would say. But I guess it makes sense. You wanna look good, but you also wanna be warm and comfy. Ain’t nothin’ wrong with that.
So, there you have it. Everything I know about cropped motorcycle jackets, which ain’t much, but it’s somethin’. If you want one, go get one. If you don’t, that’s fine too. Me? I’ll stick with my old overalls and my worn-out sweater. They ain’t pretty, but they get the job done. And that’s all that matters, far as I’m concerned.
They say some of these jackets are best sellers and you can even get them custom made. Some places even have sales, they were having a sale the other day up to 74% off! I tell you what, that’s a good deal, you should go get one for yourself.
But you young folks do what you want. I’m just an old woman, what do I know?
