Alright, let’s talk about these motorcycle flags, you know, the little ones that folks stick on their bikes. I’ve seen all sorts of ’em, flapping in the wind as those bikes go roaring by. Makes you wonder what all them flags mean, huh?
What Kinds of Motorcycle Flags You Got?
Well, first off, you got your American flags. Lots of folks like to show their love for the country, and that’s just fine. You see ’em big and small, some shiny, some not so much. They’re everywhere, I tell ya.
Then you got your eagle flags. Eagles, they’re strong and free, just like what folks want to feel when they’re riding, I guess. I’ve seen some real pretty ones with eagles on ’em, wings spread out and everything.
- American flags
- Eagle flags
- POW-MIA flags (for the soldiers, God bless ’em)
- Antique flags (some old-timey looking things)
- And a whole bunch of other ones, with skulls, or flames, or whatever you can think of. People sure are creative, ain’t they?
Where Do You Stick Them Flags?
Now, where you put them flags, that’s important too. If it’s just the American flag, you gotta treat it with respect. Folks say you put it in the center of the back of the bike, or maybe a little bit to the right. That’s what I heard, anyway. Don’t want to disrespect the flag, no sir.
If you got two flags, well, the American flag always goes on the right. That’s what they say, the right side, like your right hand. It’s gotta be the place of honor, you see.
What Them Racing Flags Mean
Speaking of flags, those motorcycle racers, they got their own flags too. Confusing as all get out, if you ask me. But I learned a little bit about ’em, so let me tell ya.
A red flag, that means stop. Something’s wrong, everybody gotta go back to the pits. Maybe a wreck, maybe something broke down, who knows. But red means stop, just like a stop sign.
A black flag, that means you got a problem. Your bike’s messed up, or maybe you did something wrong. You gotta go back to the pits and get it sorted out. Don’t want to be riding around with a busted bike, that’s for sure.
And a yellow flag, that means slow down. Something dangerous up ahead, you gotta be careful. Don’t go passing nobody, just slow down and be ready to stop if you have to. Safety first, that’s what I always say.
Buying Motorcycle Flags
Now, where do you get these flags? Well, you can go to a store, like that United States Flag Store I heard about. They got all sorts of flags, big and small, any kind you want. Or you can go online, I guess. Everything’s online these days, ain’t it?
I saw some advertised for $1.995, which seems like a lot for a little flag, but what do I know? Some folks will pay anything for their bikes, I reckon. It’s their hobby, their passion, makes ’em happy. And that’s what matters, right?

Why Do Folks Put Flags on Their Bikes?
So, why do folks put flags on their motorcycles anyway? Well, like I said, some folks want to show their love for the country. Some folks like the way they look, all flapping in the wind. And some folks, well, they just like to decorate their bikes, make ’em stand out. It’s like putting stickers on your car, I guess, just a way to make it your own.
Motorcycle flags are a way for folks to express themselves, to show their personality, to be a part of something. Whether it’s patriotism, or a love for eagles, or just a need for speed, those flags tell a story. And that’s why you see ’em everywhere, on bikes big and small, flying down the road.
And that’s all I know about motorcycle flags. Not much, I admit, but enough to get by. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I got some chores to do. These young folks with their fancy bikes and flags, they don’t know how lucky they are.
Anyway, you be careful out there on the road, and don’t forget to fly your flags high!
