Okay, so I’ve been wanting to do something chill and creative lately, and I remembered how much I loved coloring books as a kid. I thought, “Why not combine that with my love for sports cars?” So I decided to find some cool sports car pictures to color.

First, I hit up my usual image search engine. I just typed in “sports car line art” and “sports car outlines”. I wanted simple outlines, you know, the kind that are easy to color in.
Finding the Right Images
- I scrolled through a bunch of pages. Some were too detailed, some were too childish, and some were just…ugly.
- I finally found a few that I liked. I was looking for classic shapes, nothing too modern or futuristic. Think Porsche 911, maybe a classic Mustang… that kind of vibe.
Once I had a decent collection, I downloaded them to my computer. I made sure they were high enough resolution so they wouldn’t look all pixelated when I printed them out.
Printing and Prepping
Next, I fired up my printer. I just used regular printer paper, nothing fancy. I thought about using thicker paper, like cardstock, but figured regular paper would be fine for a test run.
I printed out about five different car pictures. Some were full-page, others I printed two to a page to save paper.
The Fun Part: Coloring!
Now for the best part! I grabbed my colored pencils. I have a pretty big set with all kinds of shades. I also got out some fine-tipped markers for the smaller details.
I started with a classic red Ferrari. I went slow, taking my time to shade in the different panels and make it look somewhat realistic. It’s surprisingly relaxing, just focusing on the colors and the shapes.
I spent a good hour or two just coloring. It’s a great way to unwind after a long day. I even put on some music while I worked.
Finished Product (For Now!)
I’m not completely finished with all of them yet, but I’m really happy with how they’re turning out. It’s a fun little project, and it’s a nice way to combine my love of cars with a bit of creativity. I can just put time on it whenever I want to chill.
If you are also fond of coloring, just do it! It’s a fun project!
