That Fox Valley Sports Car Club, my goodness, they sure do like their cars. I heard they been around since 1957, that’s a long time! They do all sorts of things with them cars, like that auto-cross thing and rallycross. Seems like a whole lot of fun if you’re into that sort of thing.
They are based in Appleton, yeah, Appleton, WI. They got a whole club going on over there. I reckon it’s a good way to meet folks who like the same things you do. My grandson, he’s real into cars. Always tinkering with ’em, making ’em go faster. Maybe I should tell him about this Fox Valley Sports Car Club. He might like that.
They got some kinda membership thing, too. You gotta pay to be part of it, I guess. But they got things going on all the time. Like that meeting they had on February 7th. Probably talking about car stuff. I don’t know much about cars, but they seem to know what they’re doing.
I seen somethin’ about a phone number. It was (715) 524-9231. And they got a website, too. It’s *. You can probably find out all about them on there. What do they do? Well, like I said, they got them autocross events and rallycross events. And lapping days, whatever that is. Sounds like they keep busy.
They had some event at Golden Sands Speedway, I think. On December 7th. That’s a Saturday, at 9 in the morning. Highway 54, that’s where it’s at. If you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to do, might be worth checkin’ out. Fox Valley Sports Car Club sure does put on a lot of these things.
- They got that membership for 2024.
- They in San Francisco, too, I guess.
- They call it SoMA.
- Just information only.
That’s a good way to find people who like same stuff, I think. Join a club, like this Fox Valley Sports Car Club. They got tags, too, sounds fancy. Like “Fox Valley Lapping Days.” They like to drive them cars around and around, I guess. Keeps ’em out of trouble, maybe. Better than runnin’ around, causin’ a ruckus, that’s for sure. My old man, he used to have an old Ford. Drove it ’til the wheels fell off, practically. These young folks today, they got it easy with their fancy cars.
They have some big car show, too. Wisconsin Camaro Car Show, fourth one, I think they said. At Road America. That sounds important. They are serious about them cars, these Fox Valley Sports Car Club folks. I can’t say I understand it all, but it’s nice to see people having fun, doing what they love. I remember when I was a little girl, we didn’t have no fancy cars. We had a mule, and that was it. But we made our own fun. Kids these days, they need these clubs and things to keep them entertained.
Well, if you like cars, then that Fox Valley Sports Car Club seems like the place to be. They got all sorts of things going on. Autocross, rallycross, lapping days, meetings, car shows. You name it, they probably do it. It’s good to have a hobby, somethin’ to keep you busy. And if that hobby is cars, then more power to you. Just be careful out there on them roads. And don’t go too fast, you hear?
I think it is good for young people. Learn about cars, how they work. Might be able to fix your own car someday. Save some money that way. ‘Cause car repairs, they cost an arm and a leg these days. I remember my neighbor, Bessie, her car broke down, and it cost her a fortune to fix it. If she had been in a club like this Fox Valley Sports Car Club maybe she would have known how to fix it herself. I don’t know.
This club, it seems like it is more than just cars. It is about people. People coming together, sharing something they like. Like a big family, almost. That is important, I think. Having people you can talk to, people who understand you. We all need that, no matter what we are interested in. Even if it is just cars. And they are from 1957, so they must be doing something right, being around that long. These Fox Valley Sports Car Club folks are onto something, I reckon.
