Oh dear, let me tell ya about this sad story. It’s about a real bad motorcycle crash happened over in Somerset. Now, I ain’t no expert, but what I heard was that two folks ridin’ them motorbikes didn’t make it. Real tragic. You know, when things like this happen, it just breaks ya heart, don’t it? Them poor riders, they was just out there, probably mindin’ their own business, and then boom, life changes in a blink. They say it happened on the B3135 road, somewhere near Priddy, close to Wells. I don’t know that road too well myself, but I reckon it’s one of them smaller ones, the kind that sneaks up on ya if ya ain’t payin’ close attention.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ these riders was doin’ anythin’ wrong, don’t get me wrong. Sometimes these roads in the countryside, they’re tricky. Curves all over, and if it’s wet or somethin’, it’s even worse. They say it was Avon and Somerset Police who showed up after the crash. I figure they musta got there quick, but once a crash like this happens, there ain’t much even the fastest ones can do, ya know?
It’s a reminder, really, for all of us. Gotta be careful out there, no matter where ya ridin’. These bikes, they’re fast, sure, but they ain’t got the kind of protection a car gives ya. One little slip or a car don’t see ya, and it could be all over. I heard that even the emergency folks tried to help, but it was too late for these two poor souls. It happened just after 5 o’clock in the evenin’, on a road folks use all the time. One minute ya ridin’, feelin’ free, and the next… well, ya just don’t know.
There’s been other crashes in Somerset too. Not too long ago, another motorcycle crash on the A30, near Chard, claimed lives as well. That road, much like the B3135, can be real dangerous if ya ain’t careful. I think this just shows that them country roads, no matter how peaceful they look, they can be real unforgivin’. Riders and drivers both gotta pay attention, else more families gonna be gettin’ bad news.
It’s not just motorcycles neither, though. Somerset’s roads see all kinds of accidents, and it’s always folks like you and me that end up hurtin’. I know we all love the countryside, but we gotta take it slow sometimes. I’m thinkin’ about all the families, especially the ones who lost their loved ones in this crash. It’s never easy losin’ someone, and when it’s somethin’ like this, it just seems even harder to understand.
So, for all of ya out there ridin’ motorcycles or even just drivin’ around, take care of yourselves. These roads, they may look quiet and empty, but they can turn dangerous real quick. Remember, it ain’t about rushin’ from here to there. It’s about makin’ sure ya get there safe and sound. My heart goes out to them who lost their lives, and I hope their families can find some peace in time.
