Alright, let’s talk about this Ezpass thingy on a motorcycle, you know, that little gadget everyone’s yappin’ about. I ain’t no fancy city slicker, but I figured some things out, and I’m gonna tell ya like it is.

EZPass Mounting Motorcycle: Quick Guide for Beginners

First off, what the heck is an Ezpass anyway? Well, it’s like a little magic box, see? You stick it on your windshield, and it lets you zoom through those toll roads without stopping. No more fumbling for change, which is a good thing, ’cause my hands ain’t what they used to be. It’s like they got a mind of their own these days, always droppin’ things.

Now, you might be thinkin’, “This old lady don’t know nothin’ ’bout motorcycles!” And you’d be partly right. I ain’t ridin’ no hog, that’s for sure. But I see them fellas whizzin’ by, and I hear things. And I know enough to tell ya that puttin’ an Ezpass on a motorcycle ain’t quite the same as puttin’ it on a car.

  • First thing’s first: where do you stick it? Can’t just slap it on the windshield, ’cause, well, most motorcycles don’t have windshields, or not big ones anyway. Some folks, they get these special holders, like little pockets, and they stick ’em on the handlebars or the forks. Sounds fiddly to me, but hey, whatever works. I saw one that was made of metal, they said it wouldn’t break, “Indestructible Metal Holder Never Break”, that what they said.
  • Then there’s the problem of it flyin’ off. You’re goin’ fast, wind’s blowin’ hard, and that little box ain’t exactly glued on there. So you gotta make sure it’s on tight, real tight. Some fellas use zip ties, some use special tape. I even heard of someone usin’ duct tape, but I don’t know ’bout that. Duct tape is good for fixin’ leaky pipes, but for somethin’ fancy like this? Seems a bit…cheap.

Now, I heard tell that some places don’t even make motorcycles use an Ezpass. They just take a picture of your license plate and send you a bill in the mail. Makes sense to me. Why go through all the trouble of stickin’ somethin’ on your bike if you don’t have to? But then again, I heard some express lanes need that Ezpass thing, they don’t let you pay cash, “The Express Lanes don’t have toll booths, meaning that there isn’t an option to pay cash on the Express Lanes”. So if you need to go fast, you better have one of them things.

But here’s the kicker, and this is where it gets confusing. Different states have different rules. What works in one place might not work in another. It’s like tryin’ to bake a cake with different ovens – sometimes it turns out great, sometimes it’s a burnt mess. So you gotta do your homework, figure out what the rules are where you’re ridin’. Don’t just listen to some yahoo on the internet, go to the official website, or call ’em up on the phone. That’s what I always say, go straight to the source, don’t listen to gossip.

And speaking of websites, there’s a whole bunch of ’em sellin’ these Ezpass holders for motorcycles. Some look fancy, some look cheap. Some are made of metal, “2 EZ Pass-Port by JL Safety- Holder for EZ Pass, I Pass, FasTrak, PalPass, QuickPass and I Zoom”, others are plastic. How’s a body supposed to choose? Well, I guess you read the reviews, see what other folks are sayin’. And don’t just look at the good reviews, look at the bad ones too. That’s where you find the real dirt, see?

So, to use this Ezpass on your motorcycle, what you need to do? I ain’t an expert, but I can tell you what I’ve heard, “To use an EZ-Pass on your motorcycle”. Get yourself a good holder, stick it on tight, and check the rules for where you’re ridin’. And for the love of Pete, don’t lose that little box. It might be small, but it costs a pretty penny to replace. And nobody wants to waste money, especially not on somethin’ you can lose easier than a sneeze in the wind.

And one more thing: if you’re still confused, go ask somebody who knows. Don’t be too proud to ask for help. That’s what I always say. We all gotta learn somehow, and sometimes the best way to learn is to ask a question. Even if it makes you feel a little foolish, it’s better than ridin’ around with a loose Ezpass and gettin’ a ticket, or worse, losin’ the dang thing altogether.

So that’s the long and short of it. Ezpass on a motorcycle. It ain’t rocket science, but it ain’t exactly a walk in the park either. Just be careful, do your homework, and you’ll be fine. And if you see me on the side of the road, don’t be afraid to stop and say hello. I might not know much about motorcycles, but I can always offer you a cup of coffee and a good story.
