Well, let me tell ya, gettin’ a CB antenna on your pickup truck ain’t as hard as some folks make it out to be. I ain’t no fancy mechanic, but I’ve seen a thing or two in my days. So, listen up, and I’ll tell ya how it’s done, nice and simple.

cb antenna mounts for pickup trucks (Easy Setup Guide)

First thing, you gotta get yourself a good CB antenna mount. There are a bunch of ’em out there, but make sure you get one that’s right for your truck. I’ve seen some that just stick on with magnets. They are alright. Others, you gotta drill some holes. I know, drilling. But, sometimes that’s just the way to go, then you know it’s on there good.

Now, where to put this thing? That’s important. You want that CB antenna for pickup trucks to be up high, so it can catch them signals good. The best spot, they say, is right smack-dab in the middle of your truck’s roof. That way, it can talk to the whole wide world, you see. I saw my neighbor try to put his on the side of his truck. Let me tell you, he did not get good reception. You need that antenna up top.

  • Get a good mount for your pickup truck.
  • Put it up high, center of the roof is best.
  • Make sure it’s stuck on there good.

If you can’t get it up high enough, you might need one of them extension things. I saw some folks using them, they just screw right on. Just makes your antenna a little taller, so it can reach out further. And that’s good, right? You want folks to hear you when you’re talkin’ on that CB radio.

When you’re puttin’ that CB antenna mount on, some folks say to put a little piece of rubber under it. That’s to keep it from scratchin’ up your paint, I reckon. Sounds like a good idea to me. You don’t want to mess up your truck just to talk on the radio. My cousin did that. Ruined a whole patch of paint on his truck. Should have used that rubber.

Now, once you got that antenna up there, you gotta hook it up to your CB radio. There’s a wire, usually, that you gotta run from the antenna to the radio. It is called a coax cable, I think. Just follow the directions that came with your radio. Or ask the person you bought it from if it did not have directions. They’ll show ya how it’s done. It ain’t too complicated, just gotta make sure everything’s plugged in right.

Some folks like to use two antennas. They say it makes the signal even better. I don’t know about all that, but if you want to try it, go ahead. Just means you gotta do all this twice, I guess. Seems like a lot of work to me, but some folks swear by it for the best CB antenna for pickup trucks setup.

Another thing, if you’re gonna be drivin’ real fast, you might want to make sure that antenna is on there extra good. You don’t want it flyin’ off when you’re goin’ down the highway. That would be a real mess. And dangerous, too. My husband did that once. Almost took out a whole flock of birds. Not a good situation.

  • Hook up the antenna to your radio with the wire.
  • Two antennas might be better, but it’s more work.
  • Make sure that antenna ain’t goin’ nowhere when you’re driving.

I remember back in the day, everyone had a CB radio in their truck. It was the best way to keep up with what was goin’ on. You could hear about traffic jams, speed traps, and all sorts of things. And it was just fun to chat with other folks on the road. It was like a party line, but for trucks. I always liked that.

Nowadays, everyone’s got them cell phones, so CB radios ain’t as popular as they used to be. But there are still plenty of folks out there who use ’em. And if you’re one of ’em, you need to make sure you got a good CB antenna. It is very important. It is how you communicate. And it needs to work. And a good mount, too.

So, there ya have it. That’s how you put a CB antenna mount for pickup trucks on your truck. It ain’t rocket science, as they say. Just gotta use a little common sense, and you’ll be talkin’ on that CB radio in no time. And remember, be safe out there on the road. And keep your ears open, you might just hear somethin’ interesting on that radio. You never know what you will hear on there.

Oh, and one more thing. Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it. There are plenty of folks out there who know a lot more about this stuff than I do. Just find someone who looks like they know what they’re doin’, and they’ll probably be happy to give you a hand. People like to help, most of the time. Especially with truck stuff. It is like a brotherhood or something.

Alright, that’s all I got for ya. Hope this helps you get your CB antenna up and runnin’. Happy talkin’! Make sure you follow all the rules of the road and of the radio. And do not talk too much. Some folks do not like that. Just be polite and everyone will have a good time. And you will get all the information you need. And maybe make some new friends. That is always nice.
