My neighbor, he’s got one. Old blue thing. He calls it “El Burro.” Don’t know why. Maybe ’cause it works like a donkey. He’s always loading it up with something. Wood, rocks, you name it. That truck, it just keeps going.

- You gotta check it real good. Make sure it ain’t gonna fall apart on you. Look at everything before buying a car.
- You need papers, lots of papers, for a car in Mexico. They call one paper “REPUVE”, I think. And you gotta register it, too.
- Don’t matter if you’re from here or there, anyone can buy a car in Mexico. Just go to a dealer or someone selling one. Easy peasy.
And another thing, you can ride in the back of those Mexican pickup trucks! Yep, right out in the open. Now, you can’t have the driver drinking, no sir. But the folks in the back, they can have a little something if they want. It’s different down there, I tell ya.
I heard some folks talking ’bout these Mexican pickup trucks not being cheap, though. Even the old ones. This ten-year-old small truck, for example. They say it ain’t much cheaper than getting one up north, in the United States. I don’t know ’bout all that, but I guess it’s true. Everything costs money these days.
