Okay, so I’ve been on this kick lately, trying to find a specific used car. My neighbor got this sweet ride, and I just had to have one. My target? A purple SUV. Sounds simple, right? Nope.

First, I hit up all the usual online marketplaces. You know, the big ones everyone uses. I spent hours scrolling, filtering by color, make, model… everything. I found a couple of promising leads, but they were either way too far away, or the sellers were super sketchy.
The Endless Search
I started to get a little discouraged. I mean, how hard could it be to find a purple SUV? Apparently, pretty darn hard. I even broadened my search to include any SUV and figured, hey, Maybe, I should find a good price and paint the car by myself?
- Day 1: Searched online marketplaces. No luck.
- Day 2: Checked local dealership websites. Still nothing.
- Day 3: Called a few dealerships directly. One guy actually laughed at me.
- Day 4: Considered giving up. Then I remembered my neighbor.
So I swallowed my pride and asked the guy next door where he got the SUV. He gave me the name of a smaller, independent used car lot on the other side of town. I hadn’t even thought to look there!
I drove over there the next day, fingers crossed. And guess what? They had one! A slightly older model than I was initially looking for, but it was PURPLE. And the price was right. I took it for a test drive, checked it out thoroughly (with the help of a mechanically-inclined friend), and made an offer.
They accepted! I signed the papers, paid, and I am the proud owner of a purple SUV! It just goes to show, sometimes you gotta go old-school and look beyond the obvious places. This may not be the newest car in my neighborhood, but it’s exactly what I need.
