Okay, so I’ve been wanting to do something about the wheels on my SUV for a while now. They were just the standard silver ones that came with it, and honestly, they were pretty boring. I wanted something that would make my ride stand out a bit more, and I thought black rims would do the trick.
First, I looked around for some inspiration. I saw a few things here and there about custom stuff, like some “customization” things and some products from “BLACK LABEL CRESTBRIDGE”. And then there were some classical and elegant styles that are said to be worn by anyone, but they weren’t exactly what I was looking for. I just wanted a simple, clean look with black rims.
So, I started by taking off the old wheels. That was a bit of a pain, to be honest. I had to jack up the car, loosen the lug nuts, and then wrestle those heavy things off. I did one wheel at a time, just to be safe.
Next, I cleaned the old rims. I mean I cleaned them for real. I wanted to have that simple “metallic holder” look but with black paint. I wanted to be sure that I can use them later if I want. I used some soapy water and a scrub brush, and got all the dirt and grime off.
Then came the fun part – painting! I got myself some cans of black spray paint that were specifically for wheels. I laid down some old newspapers to protect my driveway, and then I started spraying. I did a few light coats, letting each one dry before applying the next. I made sure to get into all the nooks and crannies.
After the paint was completely dry, I put the wheels back on the car. It was the same process as taking them off, just in reverse. Tighten those lug nuts, lower the car, and that’s it!
Finally, I stood back and looked at my work. Man, it made such a difference! My SUV looked so much cooler with those black rims. It was like a whole new car. I was really happy with how it turned out.
It wasn’t a super complicated project, but it did take some time and effort. But in the end, it was totally worth it. Now my SUV looks awesome, and I get compliments on it all the time. So, if you’re thinking about giving your ride a little upgrade, I definitely recommend considering black rims. It’s a simple change that can make a big impact!
