Okay, so I’ve been seeing these crazy big wheel motorcycles popping up all over the internet, and I just had to try and build one myself. I mean, who wouldn’t want a bike with wheels that look like they belong on a monster truck?

First things first, I needed a donor bike. I scoured online marketplaces and finally found a beat-up old cruiser that looked like it had seen better days. Perfect! It was cheap, and I wouldn’t feel too bad about chopping it up.
The Tear Down
I started to take all parts apart.
I took the wheels off.
I took handle off.
This part was pretty straightforward. I just unbolted everything, took the original wheels off, and basically stripped the bike down to its bare frame. I made sure to keep all the parts organized, though, because I knew I’d probably need some of them later.
Finding the Right Wheels
This was the tricky part. I spent hours searching online for wheels that were big enough but also wouldn’t break the bank. I finally settled on a pair of used ATV wheels. They were massive, but I figured I could make them work.
Modifying the Frame
- Cut: I had to cut the original frame to make room.
- Welded: I had to do the wield.
- Measured:I need to measure a lot.
This was where things got interesting. I had to do some serious modifications to the frame to accommodate the huge wheels. This involved a lot of measuring, cutting, and welding. I’m no professional welder, but I managed to get the job done. It wasn’t pretty, but it was strong.
Putting It All Back Together
After what felt like an eternity of grinding, welding, and fitting, it was finally time to put everything back together. This was probably the most satisfying part, seeing all the individual pieces come together to form this crazy machine.
The Test Ride
I had some issues and I have to fix them first.
Finally,It worked
I hopped on, fired it up, and slowly rolled out of the garage. It felt… weird. Really weird. But also kind of awesome. I took it for a spin around the block, and I have to admit, it was a blast. It definitely turned a lot of heads!
So, there you have it. My big wheel motorcycle adventure. It was a lot of work, a lot of learning, and a whole lot of fun. Would I do it again? Probably not. But am I glad I did it? Absolutely!
