So, I finally got around to getting my motorcycle license here in Arizona, and let me tell you, it was quite the process! I figured I’d share my experience in case any of you are thinking about doing the same.

First things first, I started by gathering all the necessary information. I did a bunch of online searches, trying to figure out what I needed to do. Seemed like there were two main parts: a written test and a skills test. I found this Arizona motorcycle handbook online and started studying that thing like my life depended on it.
Then, I started looking into practice tests. There were tons of free ones online, which was great. I took those practice tests over and over again. Some of the questions were pretty tricky, but after a while, I started to get the hang of it. You know, multiple-choice stuff, trying to remember all the rules of the road.
Once I felt somewhat confident with the written part, I decided to tackle the skills test. I found a local place that offered motorcycle training courses. I signed up, figuring it would be a good idea to get some professional instruction before taking the actual test. The course was helpful, although a bit nerve-wracking at times. We practiced things like weaving through cones, making quick stops, and doing U-turns in a tight space. The instructor gave us some good pointers, and I felt a lot more comfortable on the bike after that.
The Written Test
After studying like crazy and getting some practice, I made an appointment at the MVD for the written test. I was nervous as heck, but I tried to stay calm. The test itself wasn’t too bad, thanks to all those practice tests I took. I finished it up, held my breath, and… I passed!
The Skills Test
With the written test out of the way, I scheduled my skills test. The day of the test, I showed up at the designated location, feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety. I did all the maneuvers they asked for, trying to remember everything I learned in the training course. There were a few wobbly moments, but I managed to keep the bike upright. And guess what? I passed that too!
So, after all that, I officially got my Arizona motorcycle license! It was definitely a journey, with lots of studying and practice. But it was totally worth it. If you’re thinking about getting your license, just remember to study hard, take those practice tests, and maybe consider a training course. Good luck!
