So, the other day I finally pulled the trigger and got myself a Joytutus SUV tent. I’d been eyeing these things for a while, you know, for camping trips and whatnot. Always seemed like a cool idea to just attach a tent to my SUV, kinda like having a little mobile home on wheels.

First thing I did was unpack the whole thing in my backyard. Laid everything out, just to get a feel for what I was working with. It came with the tent itself, a bunch of poles, stakes, guy lines, and a rainfly. Seemed pretty standard, nothing too crazy.
Next up, I started with the main tent body. It’s got these sleeves that you gotta slide the poles through. The poles are color-coded, which is a lifesaver, honestly. I matched the colors and started feeding them through. Took a bit of wiggling and pushing, but eventually, I got all the poles in place.
Once the poles were in, I stood the tent up. It kinda looked like a dome at this point. Then came the fun part—attaching it to my SUV. The tent has this sleeve that’s supposed to go over the back of your vehicle. I backed my SUV up to the tent, opened the hatch, and slipped the sleeve over it. It fit pretty snugly, which was a relief.
- Stake the tent down first.
- Then I used the guy lines to secure it even more.
- Tightened everything up, make sure it’s not gonna blow away.
Last thing was the rainfly. I just draped it over the whole setup and clipped it into place. Pretty straightforward. There is an awning, but I will try that next time. All in all, it probably took me about an hour to set it up the first time. Not too shabby, I reckon.
I even spent a night in it, just in my backyard. It was pretty cool, honestly. Felt like a legit camping trip, but with the comfort of my SUV right there. I can see this thing getting a lot of use this summer. Definitely a good purchase, in my book.
