Okay, so I’ve been doing crossword puzzles for, like, ever. And sometimes, you just get STUCK. Today, it was “British sports car.” I stared at it, and my mind was a total blank. I mean, I know some British cars, but sports cars? That narrowed it down, but not enough!

First, I tried just racking my brain. You know, that thing where you just stare into space and hope the answer magically appears? Didn’t work. Not even a little.
Then, I started listing car brands in my head: Rolls Royce… Bentley… Nope, those are fancy, but not really sporty. I thought of Jaguar, that felt closer… but still wasn’t quite clicking.
So, I pulled out my phone. I know, I know, some people think it’s cheating, but hey, sometimes you need a little nudge! I typed in “British sports car brands” into the search bar.
A whole bunch of names popped up:
- MG
- Triumph
- Aston Martin
- Lotus
- TVR
My “Aha!” Moment
And there it was! Seeing the list, it all came flooding back. I remembered seeing classic MGs and Triumphs in old movies. Aston Martin, of course, is James Bond’s car! Lotus, I recalled, is known for being super lightweight and fast. And a quick look told me that TVR is known for hand build powerful lightweight sports cars.
I went back to my crossword, and bam! Depending on the number of letters, any of these is probably a valid clue.
It’s funny how the brain works. Sometimes you just need that little extra push to unlock what you already kinda knew. Anyway, puzzle solved! On to the next one…
