Okay, here’s my blog post about finding a pickup truck with a plow:

So, winter’s coming, and I decided I needed a way to deal with the snow myself. Last year was rough, relying on neighbors or waiting forever for the city plow. I figured, why not get a pickup with a plow? Get it done myself, and maybe even help out the neighbors. Seemed like a win-win.
The Hunt Begins
First, I started looking online. You know, just browsing the usual places where people sell used cars. I filtered for pickup trucks and added “plow” to the keywords. I found a bunch, but man, were some of them rusty! Or way out of my price range. Or just… weird. I mean, who paints a plow truck bright pink?
I spent a few days just scrolling, getting a feel for what was out there. I learned quickly that there are different types of plows. Straight blades, V-blades… it was a whole new world. I decided I wanted something simple, probably a straight blade, since my driveway isn’t that huge.
Narrowing it Down
After the initial online search, I made a list of a few trucks that seemed promising. They were in decent shape, the plows looked functional, and the prices weren’t insane. I emailed a couple of sellers to ask some questions. Stuff like, “How old is the plow?” and “Any rust I should know about?” Basic stuff.
I got some replies, it was clear that good ones might be a little high of price. I still need to be patient, but I think I am on the right way.
Checking Them Out (or not)
- I planned to go see a couple of the trucks in person. That’s the only way to really know, right?
- Check the truck’s engine and other functions.
- Check how the plow is attached, making sure it is solid and working.
I will keep finding and keep you guys updated, wish me good luck!
