Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with a crossword puzzle, specifically one about classic sports cars. I’ve always been kind of a car guy, but not like a super expert or anything. More like, I appreciate a beautiful car when I see one, you know?

So, I searched for “classic sports cars crossword” online. I found a bunch of websites that had clues and answers. It looks like people have been searching for this kind of crossword puzzle quite a few times, so it’s not just me!
I started browsing through different websites. Some had 30 answers, some had 40. They were all based on how popular the searches were. The clues were last updated on December 14, 2021 and the most recent ones are from March 21, 2024. Most of them are from the LA Times. That’s cool, I guess.
I noticed the answers ranged from 3 to 6 letters. The shortest one I saw was “GTS” and the longest was “XKES”. I recognized some of the car names, but others, not so much.
- I tried to solve some clues without looking at the answers first.
- It was pretty tough!
- Some answers are “Ttop” and “Pontiac”.
- I had to peek a little to see if I was on the right track.
One website even mentioned synonyms for “extravagant” like “excessive,” “exorbitant,” and “immoderate.” I guess they were trying to explain what “extravagant” means? It means going beyond what’s normal or reasonable. Kind of like some of those classic sports cars, right? Super fancy and over-the-top.
And then there was something about “circa” or “C” or “CA” which I think means “around” or “approximately” in terms of years. Like, “That car was made circa 1960.”
Anyways, it was a fun little exercise. I didn’t finish the whole crossword, but I got a few answers. Maybe I’ll try again another time when I have more time. It’s definitely a good way to test your knowledge about classic sports cars, even if you’re not a total gearhead like me.
It is not easy for me, and I will keep trying and keep updating the progress with you guys!
