Okay, so I’ve been looking into getting a new SUV. I need something that fits my lifestyle, you know? Not too big, not too small, just right. So I started digging into Mazda SUVs because I’ve always liked their look and how they drive. Here’s what I found out about their sizes and what I did to figure out which one was the best for me.

First off, I realized there are a bunch of different Mazda SUVs, so I had to narrow it down. I found this site that lists them from smallest to largest, using the length of the car. Seems like a good way to do it, right? Then I figured out that Mazda has these models: the CX-3, CX-30, CX-5, and some others that are even bigger, but I wasn’t really interested in those.
I started with the smallest, the CX-30. It’s technically a “subcompact,” but it’s got this sporty vibe that I really liked. I sat in one at the dealership, and it felt pretty roomy for a smaller SUV. The front headroom, they say it’s 38.1 inches, and the rear is 38.3. And for legroom, it’s like 41.7 inches in the front and 36.3 in the back. Not bad at all!
- CX-30: Subcompact, sporty, surprisingly spacious inside.
Next up was the CX-5. This one is a bit bigger than the CX-30. The site I was looking at mentioned it’s a bit less fuel-efficient because of the size, but you get more space inside for passengers and cargo. Plus, it has some fancier features, both standard and optional ones you can add on.
- CX-5: A bit bigger, more space, more features.
So, I went down to the local Mazda dealership. I checked out both the CX-30 and the CX-5 in person. I hopped in the driver’s seat, the passenger seat, even the back seats. I was checking out the headroom, the legroom, seeing how easy it was to get in and out. I even opened up the back to check out the cargo space, imagining how much stuff I could fit in there for road trips or just grocery shopping.
After sitting in both and really thinking about what I need, I decided to go with the CX-30. The CX-5 was nice, but the CX-30 felt like the perfect size for me. It’s not too big, it’s got enough space for what I need, and I just love the way it looks and feels.
My Choice
- I picked the CX-30! Perfect size and I love the sporty feel.
So that’s my little adventure in figuring out Mazda SUV sizes. Hope this helps anyone else out there who’s in the same boat!
