Well, hey there! Let’s gab a bit about these newfangled pickup trucks, ya know, the international kind. I ain’t no expert, mind you, just a regular person seeing things and thinkin’ ’bout ’em.

Them Fancy Names and Numbers
First off, these trucks, they got all sorts of names and numbers. Like, International somethin’ somethin’ and then a whole buncha numbers like 3414 RHS or 4000 somethin’. Makes my head spin, it does. But I reckon it’s important for the folks who buy ’em. Gotta know what ya gettin’, I guess. They say somethin’ ’bout pairin’ up with some engine, the Navistar S13, for drivin’ good. Don’t know much ’bout that Navistar fella, but if it makes the truck go good, then that’s alright by me.
Big and Strong, Like a Bull
- They’re big, these trucks. Real big. Like them bulls we used to have back on the farm. Strong too, I bet. Gotta be, to haul all that stuff folks need to haul. Hay, wood, tools, ya name it.
- I hear tell they ain’t the fanciest, like them Peterbilt or Kenworth ones. But they’re good, solid trucks, they say. Better than some others, like that Freightliner maybe.
Built to Last, I Hope
Now, when you’re buyin’ somethin’ like a truck, you want it to last, right? You ain’t got money to throw around, not these days. So, a good, solid truck, that’s what you need. I reckon that’s what International is aimin’ for. They say it depends on what you’re gonna do with it, and how it’s built in the first place. That makes sense, I guess. You wouldn’t use a little ol’ car to haul a load of bricks, would ya? Same goes for these trucks. Gotta get the right one for the job.
Trouble in the Past, Maybe?
I heard some stories, you know, whispers and such. Seems like International had some troubles back in the day. Somethin’ ’bout oil and fightin’ amongst the big bosses. They even stopped makin’ some kinda truck, the Light Line, they called it. Shame, that. Folks liked it, from what I hear. But sounds like they’re back at it, tryin’ to make a good truck again.
What’s a Good Truck Anyways?
Thinkin’ ’bout it, a good truck is just a tool, ain’t it? Somethin’ to help you get your work done. It needs to be strong, reliable, and not break down on ya every five minutes. And it needs to be worth the money you spend on it. That’s true for anythin’ in life, not just trucks. A good pair of boots, a good pan for cookin’, a good neighbor… Same kinda thing.
Automatics and All That Jazz
These new trucks, they got all these automatic thingamajigs. Transmissions, they call ’em. Makes drivin’ easier, I guess. No more fussin’ with gears and such. But I tell ya, I like to feel the truck, ya know? Feel the engine workin’, feel the wheels turnin’. Maybe I’m just old-fashioned, that’s what my grandkids tell me anyway.
For Workin’ Folks, That’s Who They’re For
In the end, I reckon these international pickup trucks are for workin’ folks. People who need a good, strong truck to get the job done. Farmers, builders, folks who haul stuff. They ain’t for showin’ off, like them fancy cars some city folks drive. They’re for gettin’ your hands dirty, for puttin’ in a hard day’s work. And that, I respect. That’s somethin’ I understand.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a truck, and you need somethin’ strong and reliable, maybe give one of these International fellas a look. Just do your research, talk to folks who know, and make sure you get the right truck for the job. Don’t just listen to some old woman ramblin’ on, that’s for sure! But sometimes, the old ways are the best ways, and a good, solid truck is a good, solid truck, no matter how fancy the name is.
Last thing, I’ve seen this young man, Keith Mazurek, he came from Chrysler Canada, trying to get this company going again, marketing the trucks. Let’s hope the youngsters figure this out, cause we need the trucks to keep going, keep farming, keep building.
