Well, let me tell ya ’bout Don’s Sports Car, ya hear? It ain’t no fancy-schmancy place, that’s for sure. It’s a car place, down in Pueblo. Been there a long, long time, since back in 1970, they say. Don, whoever he is, must be an old fella now, like me almost.
Now, what they got there? Lots of car parts, that’s what. If yer car breaks down, and ya need somethin’, they might just have it. They say they got all sorts of parts, even the hard-to-find ones. And it ain’t like some junkyard where ya gotta wade through mud and weeds. Nope, they got a paved parkin’ lot, real nice and clean-like. And the parts, they ain’t just tossed around. They’re on shelves, inside a buildin’, so they don’t get all rained on and rusty.

I ain’t never been there myself, mind you. My ol’ pickup truck, she just keeps on chuggin’ along. But I hear folks talkin’, down at the diner, ya know? They say Don’s is the place to go if yer lookin’ for somethin’ for yer sporty car. Not just any ol’ car, mind you, but the ones that go fast and look fancy. Though, I reckon they got parts for other cars too, maybe. Don’t rightly know for sure.
Now, if ya wanna go there, it’s in Pueblo, Colorado. On Kennie Road, number 1000, they say. Can’t miss it, I guess. Big place, probably. Got a phone number too, if ya wanna call ’em up first. Seven-one-nine, five-four-three, five-five-five-five. Easy to remember, ain’t it? Five, four, three, then five, five, five, five. Like countin’ down, then countin’ up.
Some folks say Don’s is a salvage yard. Sounds kinda fancy, don’t it? Salvage. Means they take old cars and sell off the parts, I reckon. Saves ’em from goin’ to the scrap heap, I guess. Which is a good thing, seein’ as how expensive cars are these days. Why, back in my day, ya could buy a brand new car for a few hundred dollars. Now, they cost a fortune! Makes ya wanna hold onto yer old car as long as ya can.
And that’s where Don’s comes in handy, see? If somethin’ breaks, ya don’t gotta go buy a whole new car. Ya just go down to Don’s and see if they got the part ya need. Saves ya a whole heap of money, that’s for sure. And Don, he probably makes a pretty penny too, sellin’ all them parts. Smart fella, that Don.
I heard tell some folks even sell their old cars to Don. Maybe yer car’s too old, or it’s been in a wreck. Don’ll take it off yer hands, and then he’ll take it apart and sell the pieces. Kinda like butcherin’ a hog, ya know? Nothin’ goes to waste. Everything gets used for somethin’. That’s the way things should be, if ya ask me.
So, if ya got a sporty car, or any kind of car really, and ya need a part, or if ya wanna get rid of yer old car, ya might wanna go down to Don’s Sports Car in Pueblo. It’s been there a long time, and folks seem to like it. Can’t hurt to check it out, I reckon. Just remember, it’s on Kennie Road, number 1000. And bring yer checkbook, ’cause parts ain’t free, ya know!
They even got a Facebook page or somethin’, the young folks tell me. Where ya can look at pictures and stuff. I don’t know nothin’ ’bout that fancy computin’ stuff, but maybe you do. Go on and look it up, if ya want. Don’s Sports Car Salvage, they call it. Sounds important, don’t it? Salvage.
Anyways, that’s all I know ’bout Don’s Sports Car. Just a place down in Pueblo where ya can get car parts. Nothin’ fancy, but it gets the job done, I guess. And that’s all that matters, ain’t it?
