Well now, let me tell ya ’bout this fella, Taylor Twellman. He was one heck of a soccer player, they say. Real good with the ball, kicked it real hard, scored a whole mess of goals. Don’t rightly know when he started, but I heard tell he played from 1999 to 2010. That’s a long time, ain’t it?
Now, this Taylor fella, he played for a team called the New England Revolution. Sounds fancy, huh? They say he was real good for them, scored somethin’ like 101 goals in 174 games. That’s a lot, even for a young fella like him. Folks say he was one of the best, real strong and fast. Kinda like a young bull in a china shop, but with a soccer ball.
But see, somethin’ bad happened. He got his head knocked around too many times. Concussions, they call ’em. Nasty business, those concussions. Made him have to stop playin’ soccer way too early. He was still young, in his 20s they say. A real shame, it was. He coulda played for many more years, I reckon.
- Strong Player: Folks say he was real strong, like a bull.
- Lots of Goals: Scored a whole bunch, more than most fellas.
- Played for Revolution: That New England team, he played for them.
- Concussions Ended Career: Got his head hurt bad, had to stop playin’.
After he stopped playin’, this Taylor fella, he didn’t just sit around twiddlin’ his thumbs. Nope, he went and started talkin’ ’bout soccer on the TV. Figured if he couldn’t play no more, he could at least tell folks about it. He worked for a place called ESPN for a long time, near 13 years, they say. Just up and quit not too long ago. Now he’s talkin’ on that Apple TV thing, the MLS Season Pass they call it. Still talkin’ ’bout that soccer, see?
Before all that soccer stuff, he was good at other sports too. Football, baseball, all sorts of things. Seems like he was just good at everything he tried. Went to a fancy school called Saint Louis University High School, and then to the University of Maryland after that. Smart fella, I guess, on top of bein’ a good athlete.
So, what all did this Taylor Twellman fella do? Well, he played a lot of soccer, real good, scored a lot of goals. Then he got hurt and had to stop. But he didn’t let that get him down. He just went and started talkin’ ’bout soccer instead. Seems like a good fella, this Taylor. Made somethin’ of himself, even when things got tough. Always gotta find a way, I say. That’s what makes a fella good.
They got all sorts of numbers and things they keep track of for these soccer fellas. How tall they are, how many goals they scored, all that. Don’t rightly know all the details myself, but folks seem to care about it. Guess it shows how good a fella is, or somethin’. This Taylor fella, he had good numbers, I hear.
And that’s about all I know ’bout Taylor Twellman. A good soccer player, got hurt, and then went and talked about soccer on TV. A good story, I reckon. Shows ya can do anything you set your mind to, even if things don’t go as planned.
