Well, let me tell ya, them 80s pickup trucks was somethin’ else. They don’t make ’em like that no more, that’s for sure. Nowadays, it’s all fancy, all them buttons and what not. Back then, a truck was a truck, simple as that. You got in, you drove it, and it took ya where you needed to go. No fuss, no bother.

My old man, bless his soul, he had one of them 80s pickup trucks. A Ford, it was. Big and blue, I remember. He used to haul all sorts of stuff in that thing. Wood for the stove, feed for the chickens, you name it. That truck, it was like a member of the family.
Back in the 80s, seems like everybody had a pickup. You’d see ’em all over. Down at the market, at the church, even the kids would be drivin’ ’em to school once they was old enough.

- Chevrolet C-Series
- Dodge Ram
- Jeep J10
- Toyota Hilux
Them trucks from the 80s, they was built to last. Not like these new ones, all plastic and flimsy. You could bump into somethin’ with an old 80s truck and it wouldn’t even leave a scratch. Try that with one of them newfangled ones, and you’d be lookin’ at a whole heap of trouble.
One time, I remember, my old man hit a deer with his truck. Big buck, it was. Jumped right out in front of him. Scared us half to death. But that truck? Didn’t even flinch. Just kept right on goin’. The deer, well, that’s another story. But the truck, it was fine. Just a little dent in the bumper, is all.
And them 80s pickup trucks, they was easy to fix, too. Didn’t need no fancy computer to tell ya what was wrong. Just a wrench and a little elbow grease, and you could fix just about anything on ’em. My old man, he used to do all his own work on that truck. Saved him a pretty penny, I reckon.
Now, I hear folks talkin’ about them Toyota Hilux trucks. Say they was real reliable. Might be true, I don’t know. Never had one myself. But I tell ya what, findin’ a good one of them nowadays, that’s like findin’ a needle in a haystack. They are tough 80s pickup trucks.
I remember them Dodge Rams, too. Big and powerful, they was. And that Jeep J10, that was a good one. Could go anywhere, that truck. Up the mountains, through the mud, didn’t matter. That Jeep, it could handle it all.
Them 80s pickup trucks was everywhere. Farms, construction sites, on the highway, on them dirt roads. You would see all kinds. Some was just for work, and others, well, they was fixed up real nice.
I saw this one fella one time, he had one of them Ford F250 trucks. Big tires on it, all lifted up high. Called it a monster truck, he did. Said it was like that Bigfoot truck you see on the TV. Looked kinda silly to me, but he sure was proud of it.
Some of them old trucks was real fun, though. Some had special colors, some had special seats. All different and cool in their own way. They was special pickup trucks, for sure.
Back in the 80s, things was simpler. And them trucks, they was a part of that. They was reliable, they was tough, and they was built to last. They don’t make ’em like that no more, and that’s a darn shame. These young folks today, they don’t know what they’re missin’.
You could get a 80s pickup trucks for a good price back then, too. Now? Well, if you can find one, they want an arm and a leg for it. It’s crazy, I tell ya. Just crazy. You just need a good 80s pickup trucks. Then you can go anywhere.
Them 80s pickup trucks, they was the best. They were somethin’ special. And I miss them old things. Simple times, good times. And good trucks. That Ford, that Chevrolet, that Dodge, and Jeep, even that Toyota, they was all good trucks. They just don’t make ’em like they used to, I guess.
Times have changed, that’s for sure, I can tell you, these 80s pickup trucks are the best. Those were the best days. Good old days!
